Abstract: | The radio-frequency interference (RFI) measurements at lower frequencies from 30MHz to 430MHz carried out at the Raman Research Institute, the place which is located in Bangalore city environment. The purpose of conducting this study is to evolve the design of a lowfrequency proto-type RF front end receiver system for the newly initiated RRI-SKA bridging activities at RRI, presently within the campus, till one identifies a better RFI free site. In this context, a simple RFI measurement setup is installed in RRI Laboratory terrace and measurements carried out, with an aim to choose a relatively clean band within this frequency range. The RF spectral data were collected and processed to identify RFI signals. In this document, the RFI data acquisition set-up and analysis along with the series of plots which describes the channel power of RFI, spectral occupancy etc., as a function of frequency are presented. |
